CCI's Vision, Mission and Goals

Vision
We envision the U.S. energy supply of the future will be diversified among the available major energy resources for economic and national security reasons.  Development of enabling energy conversion technology will support the expanded use of the large domestic coal resources in harmony with environmental concerns and economic objectives.  Based on coal conversion technology already available, low-rank coal will in the future become an important resource for the domestic oil supply in addition to its role as a principal power generation fuel.



Mission
CCI is engaged in the development and commercialization of liquid-from-coal and clean-coal technology.  CCI will provide process technology and operating licenses for commercially viable processes based on the development of innovative proprietary technology for producing synthetic crude oil.  Production of CCI synthetic crude oil includes the co-production of clean-coal-fuel for the power generation industry with significantly increased boiler efficiency and reduced emissions of greenhouse gases, sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides and mercury.  Commercial project development is an integral part of this mission.



Goals
CCI will provide project development and process technology for multiple commercial synthetic crude oil projects with a capacity equivalent to the discovery of a new, large domestic 100,000 barrels-per-day oil field.  Co-production of clean-coal fuel for existing and new power projects would support 6,000-MW generating capacity.  The long-range goal is to expand domestic synthetic crude oil production capacity to produce 1.5 - 2.5 million barrels-per-day.  Based on the substantial potential for power plant emissions reduction, increased fuel efficiency, and the significant potential for increasing the domestic energy supply security, we envision broad acceptance of the CCI process technology at the local, state and federal levels.
